Chugach's annual membership meeting will be held April 26. Ballot packets
for the election will go in the mail the week of March 26. Members have until
noon, April 23, to return a mail ballot or may vote in-person at the annual meeting.
Chugach is more than a utility, it is a cooperative. As a cooperative,
Chugach is guided by a seven-member board of directors elected by and from
the membership. Directors are elected to staggered, three-year terms in
conjunction with the annual meeting each spring. This year, two directors
will be elected.
Four candidates are running for the two available seats on the board in
the 2007 election. Also on the ballot are two proposed changes to the bylaws.
Information on all candidates and proposed bylaw changes will be included in
the ballot packets.
Election results will be announced at the annual meeting. The meeting will
be held the evening of April 26 at the Egan Center. Registration opens at 6 p.m.
and the meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
