Chugach Electric Board appoints William "Bill" Stewart interim CEO
At last night’s meeting, the Chugach Electric Association Board of Directors
appointed William "Bill" Stewart as the interim CEO for Chugach.
Stewart is a 36-year employee of Chugach Electric. Stewart has come up through the
ranks at Chugach serving at the senior management level for the past 18 years. Stewart
will continue oversight of Administration where he is the General Manager while taking on
the additional CEO responsibilities.
"We feel that Bill Stewart’s long history at Chugach brings special skills and
the knowledge to maintain a steady course for the company while the Board of Directors conducts
a nationwide CEO search," said Jeff Lipscomb, Chugach Board Chairman. The search is expected
to take 4 months.
Chugach is the largest electric utility in Alaska, providing power for customers
throughout the Railbelt through retail, wholesale and economy energy sales.
