On March 29, 2023, Chugach will be moving to a new payment processing system, provided by Invoice Cloud. Email communications about this change are being sent to members to inform them of the new payment system. The new system will make it easier to set up automatic payments, provide more up-to-date billing and account balance information, use new payment methods, such as Apple Pay and Pay Pal, while also securely storing member payment information. Members can also set up new notifications and reminders, including email and text messaging.

 

Payments scheduled for bills due in March will be paid with the old payment processor, while bills due in April will need to be paid with the new payment processor. On March 29, members who use online payments will need to set up their financial information in the new system to ensure your monthly payments are not interrupted.

 

 

When Can I Setup My New Payment Information and Automatic Payments?

On March 29, the new payment processor will be ready for you through the My Account member portal. 

On March 29, if you have My Account member portal access, login and click on view or pay bill, and follow the prompts to setup your new payment wallet and automatic payments, if desired.

If you do not yet have My Account member portal access, you can register on March 29 by following the steps on the login page. Be sure to have your Chugach Electric member account number and email address ready. Then login and click on view or pay bill, and follow the prompts to setup your new payment wallet and automatic payments, if desired.

Why Can’t I Update My Payment Information Now?

The change in payment processor has been planned to take place after all Chugach bills due in March 2023 are paid. Because the payment processors are two different companies, your private payment information could not be transferred from the current company to the new one.

In addition, the first bills with due dates in April 2023 have a due date of April 3, which allows members a four-day window to set up their new payment information. For members with due dates later in April, please set up your new payment information at least one full day prior to your April bill due date.
