Chugach plans two short outages for Hope
Chugach Electric Association has scheduled a pair of outages for customers served by the Hope Substation. Each outage is expected to be approximately one-to-two hours long. The first outage is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., on Wednesday, May 12. The second outage is expected to take place about noon, on Friday, May 14.
The outages are necessary to switch from the Hope Substation power source to the temporary generator in Hope while crews perform maintenance on the Hope Substation. A second outage of about the same duration will be necessary in order to transfer the power from the temporary generator back to its normal source at the Hope Substation.
Chugach is the largest electric utility in Alaska, providing power for Alaskans throughout the Railbelt through retail, wholesale and economy energy sales.
