Planned power outage for Whittier and Portage

Chugach has planned an outage that will affect customers in Whittier and Portage. The outage is needed to safely do work at the Portage substation. Crews will be testing and performing maintenance on the substation transformer. The 4-hour outage is scheduled to begin at midnight on Monday night, June 15 and end by 4:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 16. Unplanned events could delay or shift anticipated outage times.

Chugach is the largest electric utility in Alaska, providing power for Railbelt Alaskans through retail, wholesale and economy energy sales.
