Public invited to Cooper Lake Hydropower Project Interagency Advisory Committee meeting, April 13

The Cooper Lake Hydropower Project Interagency Advisory Committee will hold a virtual public meeting from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13.

The Interagency Advisory Committee (IAC) was established to advise or direct Chugach Electric Association (CEA) on various aspects of implementing their license to operate the Cooper Lake Hydroelectric Project. The IAC determines flow release schedules from CEA's hydropower project facilities into Cooper Creek and Stetson Creek, with a goal to optimize wildlife habitat on Cooper Creek while continuing the production of hydroelectric power from the project.

The purpose of the meeting is to acquaint new committee members with the project’s history and operations, discuss siphon repairs and functionality, review the 2025 biotic monitoring efforts, discuss the 2026 biotic monitoring plan, and develop an annual flow schedule.

The meeting will be held virtually using Microsoft Teams and is open to all interested parties. For more information or to register for the meeting, please contact Will Brennan at 907-754-2351 or william.brennan@usda.gov.
