Chugach Electric members elect directors
Rebecca Logan, Janet Reiser and Elizabeth "Liz" Vazquez were elected to 3-year terms on the Chugach Electric Association board of directors. Election results were announced at the cooperative utility's annual meeting Thursday evening, April 24. About 24 percent of the 65,146 Chugach members of record voted in the election. Logan is president and chief executive officer of the Associated Builders and Contractors, Alaska Chapter. Reiser is an engineer and the chief executive officer of Salus Management Services. Vazquez is an attorney with the State of Alaska. Logan and Vazquez were returned to seats on the board. Reiser ran for the first time. Incumbent Uwe Kalenka, and challengers Tony Izzo and Mark Wiggin were also candidates in the election. The ballot count for the election was:

A total of 301 Chugach members registered for the annual meeting, held at the Egan Civic & Convention Center.
Immediately after the annual meeting, the board met to elect new officers to serve for the next year. Rebecca Logan was elected chairman of the board, Jim Nordlund was elected vice-chair, P.J. Hill was elected treasurer and Alex Gimarc was elected secretary.
Chugach is the largest electric utility in Alaska, providing power for Alaskans throughout the Railbelt through retail, wholesale and economy energy sales.
