Chugach plans outage in Girdwood

Chugach Electric Association has scheduled an outage that will affect the community of Girdwood for early morning Friday.

The hour-long outage is scheduled to begin sometime between midnight Thursday, and last until 2 a.m., Friday, Sept. 26. Chugach will be taking the Girdwood Substation out of service in order to perform necessary maintenance on the transformer prior to winter.

Chugach is the largest electric utility in Alaska, providing power for Alaskans throughout the Railbelt through retail, wholesale and economy energy sales.
