Chugach Electric director named to NWPPA Board of Trustees
Chugach Electric Board of Directors member Rachel Morse has been named to the Northwest Public Power Association (NWPPA) Board of Trustees. Morse, who has served on the Chugach board since January 2018, was elected to a three-year term with NWPPA at the organization’s annual business meeting held in Anchorage last week.
The board of trustees is charged with governing NWPPA, which is a regional association representing and serving more than 150 customer-owned, locally controlled utilities in the Western U.S. and Canada. Those elected to the board of trustees come from member utilities and associate member organizations.
“I’m honored to join colleagues from across the Western U.S. and Canada in serving on this prestigious board,” said Morse. “Having the opportunity to elevate Alaska’s unique perspectives and priorities is a win for Chugach and our members.”
Morse has served as board chair, vice chair, and treasurer on the Chugach board. She is the Senior Vice President for United Way of Anchorage, a National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Credentialed Cooperative Director, and has earned her certificate in board leadership.
