At least one short outage to affect Chugach customers served by the Indian Substation

Customers of Chugach Electric Association served by the Indian Substation may experience two short power outages (less than 5 minutes each) on Friday, July 10.

Chugach will be testing the ability of an on-site generator to provide power to customers. A short outage to initiate the test period around 10:00 a.m. is possible. A short outage will be necessary between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. to return customers to service from the grid.

Chugach is the largest electric utility in Alaska, providing power to Railbelt Alaskans through retail, wholesale and economy energy sales.
