Applications being accepted for Chugach Board vacancy

Director Bruce Dougherty resigns

Chugach Electric Association’s Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of director Bruce Dougherty. Dougherty, whose resignation is effective December 14, 2016, said he will be leaving Alaska. As a result, Chugach will have a vacancy on its seven-member board. Applications are being accepted until noon, October 28, 2016.

“I want to thank director Dougherty for his excellent service to Chugach and its members,” said Board Chair Janet Reiser. “We are looking forward to this opportunity for another Chugach member to get involved and help represent all of the interests of our member-owners.”

Dougherty was first appointed to the board in March 2015, elected by the membership in May 2015 to serve a one-year term, and re-elected in 2016. He most recently served as secretary of the board and vice chair of the governance committee.

Chugach members who are interested in the position and believe they meet the qualifications must submit a letter of intent, an application form, an attestment of candidate qualifications form, and a resume by noon on October 28. A link to the forms and qualifications is available on the home page at www.chugachelectric.com. Documents should be sent to: Legal Project Administrator, Chugach Electric Association, PO Box 196300, Anchorage, AK 99519-6300. To request a packet, please call 762-4791.

The board will interview and appoint a Chugach member who meets the qualifications as specified in the bylaws, Article IV, Section 3. The appointee will serve until the seat is filled in the May 2017 election.
