Chugach files rate case with Regulatory Commission of Alaska

As part of the acquisition of Municipal Light & Power by Chugach Electric in 2020, the Regulatory Commission of Alaska required the utility to file a rate case in 2023 in order to combine rate classes. Since the acquisition closed, there have been separate rate structures for the north and south Chugach members. The rate case was filed with the RCA on Friday, June 30, 2023 and will take an estimated 15 months to go through the regulatory process. Details are outlined in the news release here.
