  • Tree planting at Bayshore Elementary

Chugach teamed up with Carlos Tree Service and 3rd graders at Bayshore Elementary School to plant a Sienna Glenn Maple as part of our Tree Line USA certification. During the planting we discussed how trees help with energy conservation, and students took turns shoveling dirt around the new tree.

As a Tree Line USA utility since 1999, Chugach plants a tree at a different school each year to grow community connections and environmental awareness.

Chugach transformed the Chevy Silverado EV’s frunk into a vampire bat for the Arc of Anchorage’s Trunk or Treat fundraiser on September 13. The display was designed to educate members about “vampire loads”—devices that continue to draw electricity even when we think they are off. Hundreds of children and families stopped by for candy and hot chocolate, which was made with power from the EV.
